SCENTWORLD TO CELEBRATE TWO FRAGRANCES INSPIRED BY
NEW YORK CITY & THE TRI-STATE AREA
New York and Industry Leaders Join ScentWorld 2013 in Honoring
Tri-State Area’s Recovery From Hurricane Sandy
New York, NY (January 30, 2013) – ScentWorld, LLC announced today that it would celebrate two fragrances inspired by New York City and the tri-state area, called, “Resilience” and “The Scent of Departure NYC,” during the opening night Welcome Reception and at the SMItty Gala Award ceremonies at the ScentWorld 2013 annual conference held on February 6-8, at the Marriott Downtown in New York City.
Among the public figures attending ScentWorld 2013 are Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, founding Fashion Director for New York’s Lincoln Center and the creative inspiration behind New York’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, New York State Senator Liz Krueger, and Susan Henshaw Jones, Director of The Museum of the City of New York and South Street Seaport Museum and, as well as Chandler Burr, author, Director and Curator of the Center of Olfactory Art at the Museum of Arts and Design, Gérald Ghislain [TITLE] of the world-renowned Histoires de Parfums’, and Steven Claisse, Senior Perfumer at global fragrance house, Belmay.

Ms. Henshaw Jones, who is renowned for her efforts in preserving and re-building the South Street Seaport Museum, and Ms. Winston Wolkoff, widely recognized as an innovative leader in the American fashion industry, will take part in presenting “the Scent of Resilience and The Scent of Departure of New York City” during ScentWorld’s opening night Welcome Reception on Wednesday February 6th at 7:00pm.

Steven Claisse, the corporate Senior Vice President of Creative Development and Senior Perfumer at Belmay, created the “Resilience” scent. Claisse is a native New Yorker and he has captured the dynamic and vigorous nature of New York in the creation of the "Resilience" fragrance. “New York’s character and allure is endless,” said Mr. Claisse.

The Scent of Departure NYC, created by the world-renowned Histoires de Parfums’ Gérald Ghislain, is a modern, crisp and invigorating fragrance with sparkling notes of apple. “The Scent of Departure NYC takes you on a trip into Gotham’s greenest parks and brightest streets,” said Mr. Ghislain. “It is the essence of New York City in a bottle.”
New York State Senator Liz Krueger will be attending the SMitty Gala Awards reception, on February 7, at 7:00 p.m. Senator Krueger will be accepting the fragrances on behalf of the State of New York and in celebration of the spirit that these fragrances represent.
ScentWorld 2013 prominent guests and dignitaries, along with conference attendees will participate in special activities to also include a keynote presentation from Chandler Burr, author, Director and Curator of the Center of Olfactory Art at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York City. Mr. Burr will deliver the Gala address on February 7th, followed by an awards ceremony to recognize the top industry talent for their innovation in scent and sensory marketing.
