SMITTY AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED AT SCENTWORLD 2013 GALA AWARD DINNER Awards Honor Innovative Individuals and Companies for Excellence in Scent and Sensory Marketing New York, NY (Feb. 15, 2013) – ScentWorld, LLC announced the distinguished winners of the SMItty Awards. The award winners were named at the ScentWorld 2013 annual conference, which took place February 6-8, at the Marriott Downtown in the heart of New York City's Financial District. The winners were chosen based on their contributions and impact in the world of scent and sensory marketing. The four distinguished SMitty Award categories and winners included: Harald Vogt Scent Marketer of the Year - The award, named for the late ScentWorld founder and industry pioneer, Harald Vogt, was given to ScentAir for its “City of Dreams Rainforest” Installation. Best Sensory Marketing Campaign - Designated as the most creative and effective sensory marketing campaign, with the use of scent and/or sensory marketing, the award was given to Tracy Pepe of Nose Knows Design for the YSmell Project. Most Innovative Use of Scent Marketing – Recognized as the brand owner that implemented the most outstanding use of scent, in a way that was new and unexpected, was Shania Twain for her use of concert scenting. Scent Technology Innovation Award – Presented to the company that created and marketed the most innovative new scent technology product or process, the award was received by Scentandrea for S “The SMItty Awards were presented to the dedicated individuals and companies who had a tremendous impact on our industry,” said Caroline Pieper-Vogt, President of ScentWorld, LLC. “Every year, ScentWorld recognizes the year's best in scent and sensory marketing. It’s also an incredible honor for us to present and share the world’s top creative talent at our global conference.” The ScentWorld Gala Dinner was host to special guests including Chandler Burr, author, Director and Curator of the Center of Olfactory Art at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York City, who gave the Gala Dinner keynote address. The ScentWorld 2013 event focused on leveraging scent and sensory marketing’s relevance and resonance to maximize revenue in today's marketplace. The purpose of the three-day international event was to place attendees on the fast track to utilizing the power of scent and sensory marketing to increase sales and create lasting emotional bonds with today’s sophisticated consumers. To achieve this goal, ScentWorld 2013 brought together marketing, advertising, and branding agency professionals, well-known scent technology and fragrance manufacturers, scent marketing distributors and consultants, sensory marketing pioneers and established brands from around the world.
